TMB 2027 booking opening: which refuges sold out first

Bookings for the 2027 season opened on montourdumontblanc.com on 15 October 2026, first seen at 10:40 (Paris time). We checked the site every 10 to 30 minutes from before the opening and recorded every July and August night at its 44 refuges.

What we saw

Les Chapieux filled first. Refuge des Mottets, Auberge-Refuge de la Nova and Les Chambres du Soleil had almost every July and August night full within 24 hours. Half their nights were gone in about 7 hours.
Some refuges were already full the moment the site opened: Hôtel Lavachey, Chalet 'Le Dolent', Auberge Mont-Blanc and Hôtel Chalet Val Ferret showed most nights as full from the start.
Close behind: Cabane du Combal, Trient (Auberge la Grande Ourse, Refuge Le Peuty, Hôtel du Col de la Forclaz) and Refuge de Nant Borrant.
Full doesn't mean full forever. In the first five days, full nights showed free beds again 837 times, often just one or two places. They went fast: half were booked again within about 2.5 hours.
Most of the trail still has space. Champex, the Swiss Val Ferret and the Contamines valley have plenty of free nights, so a full refuge rarely means a full stage.

How we measured this

We read the public availability page of montourdumontblanc.com about every 30 minutes (every 10 minutes around the opening), one request at a time, and stored what changed.

A night counts as full when the site shows it as fully booked. "Beds came back" counts each time a full night showed free beds again, usually after a cancellation. One night can count more than once.

This covers only the 44 refuges on that site. Rifugio Elisabetta, Rifugio Bonatti, Rifugio Elena and Refuge du Lac Blanc take bookings elsewhere and are not included.
